Review: The Hungry Asian Vote for Purple

It's tricky sometimes, when I order polishes from Etsy.  I have an extreme affinity for glitter so glitter is what I get.  What do I do though to make said polishes interesting for everyone though?  My answer is usually layer it over an unconventional colour or do a gradient.  The Hungry Asian Vote for Purple gets gradient!

My question to you:  what else can I do with awesome glitters other than layering and gradients?

Anyway, let's take a look at Vote for Purple.  It's super pretty with a ton of lilac glitter in micro and small hexes.  I chose Sally Hansen Celeb City here cos I thought the silver and lilac would be nice together.  And they are!  For the gradient here, I used my normal technique (kitty, it's hard to type when you're head butting my hands.  I'll pat you in a minute) whereby I paint the top two thirds of my nail, then half, then the top third. With a glitter in a clear base you can get a good gradient going like this.

The Verdict: This one was so pretty to wear, I'm a fan.  I have to find different ways to show off glitter like this though.

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
