Black and White Dotting Experiment

Last night I was looking through my list of followers and their sites and came across a style from GretalRabbit that I just had to try, white dots on black and vice versa.  I'm so happy with how it came out!  I started with two coats of Wet n Wild Black Creme and added different sized dots to the corners.  I thought I'd play with the accent finger too, adding two coats of Love and Beauty silver bar glitter.  The glitter covered really well, by the way.  Finally, bonus matte version!  I think I prefer it in this case as it makes my nails look like pieces of a mug, which I actually like!

    Your version is so much better than mine- my dots were nowhere near as even as yours! I love that bar glitter too :)

    I realy love this manicure, because black and silver is my favorite combo. I love it matte best. I can't tell from the photo if you mattified the glitter, but I think it would be great without the glitter mattified. Make it more of a "statement" nail, being so far and away different.

      Thanks for the kind comments! I did add matte to the glitter but you're right, it would have been better shiny. One day I'll learn to just stop :)

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
