Black and Silver Ruffian Nails!

It's fair to say that I spend rather a lot of time on Reddit Laqueristas (and yes, the 'c' is missing).  There was a post on there last night asking about how a ruffian manicure was done, and, having nothing better to do, I thought I'd give it a shot!

  1. Add a coat of Revlon Silver Coin.  Leave this to dry completely, then add another coat.  I only used one and it lifted at the corners.  Two would have been better.
  2. Apply a coat of a quick dry top coat, like Seche Vite and leave to dry completely.
  3. Leave it to dry another five minutes.
  4. Once completely dry, use labels or tape, cut into semi-circles, and apply over the cuticles, leaving ~3mm of base colour showing.
  5. Paint on your black polish and remove tape before it dries.
  6. Add a coat of Seche Vite, for staying power.
  7. Add your matte top coat.  I used Joe Fresh Matte, as it works well.
  8. Voila!

The Verdict:  Mine might not be quite as neat at the source image but I think I came pretty close.  I love how this looks and will have to try it out again soon.

  2. What black polish did you use? Sorry if it was already stated and I missed it.

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the biggest tag on y

I'm a Proper Mermaid This Time Beeeeaches

Ermerger guys, I don't have any glitter on me!  Well, I do, just on my nails.  I always have glitter on me.  And cat fluff.  It's funny how often my bf comes home with glitter in his beard.  That means it's been there all day... Anyway, new nail vinyls mean something a bit different.  I swear I'm not actually obsessed with mermaids, it just seems like it... Anyway, again, shall we?

FULL RAINBOW GLITTER INSANITYYYYYYYY

I don't know what it is, but there's something about hex glitter that is very pleasing to me.  The tessellation, the way the colours can interlace, it's just great.  The problem is, the tiny glitter - my favourite - is actually quite difficult to find. The red, especially, difficult to track down.  I FINALLY FOUND SIXTEEN COLOURS BIATCHES.  THUS, RAINBOW-Y-EST RAINBOWS EVER AND I'm sharing too at the The Sparkly Shop ... But we're here for this rainbow today.  LOOK AT THIS WOULD YOU.
