Review: Pretty & Polished Swing

Oh, my camera.  First neons, then fuchsia and now more reds, it just can't cope.  I've tried setting the white balance, the shutter speed, changing the lighting, all to no avail.  Bare with me with the pictures?  The thumb shot is probably the closest to real life, if that helps. Anyway, let's take a look at the beautiful Pretty & Polished Swing while I take my camera to counselling.

Swing is a really beautiful polish, a red jelly with black, white and pink glitter smattered throughout.  It wasn't the easiest thing in the work getting the glitter out of the tiny bottle though so I did things up with a middle layer of Pretty & Polished Valentino as I just love black and white glitter so very much.  Application of the polish itself was good - this is three coats with one of Valentino in the middle - but the glitter was so hard to get out.  I just love how much of a jelly this one is.  You can see all the layers at various levels of opacity and that just has to be one of my favourite things in a polish.

The Verdict: Looks like fruit salad in Jello!  I think if I were to wear this again I would add another coat of a black and white glitter over the top as I'd like to see more of the white, rather than the pink.  It's beautiful anyway though, so who cares!

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
