Review: Pretty & Polished Hearts & Daggers & Ampersands

I hope there are some of you out there that understand the torture of ordering polishes off the internet and then "having" to go on vacation before they get there.  Pretty and Polished released a few new polishes before I left for Australia and of course I had to order them, mostly because of the number of them that had matte glitter.  Oh how I love matte glitter.  Let's take a look at the stand out for the bunch, Hearts & Daggers.

Hearts & Daggers is a clear polish packed with black and white hexes, diamonds and bar glitter and large red hearts.  I had the hardest time choosing what this should go over.  I'd normally choose a blue or yellow but nothing seemed to go quite right with the red hearts.  So of course I settled on fuchsia.  That goes well with red, right?  So to start with, two coats of American Apparel Neon Purple.  Then two coats of Hearts & Daggers.  As is often the problem with these thick glitters, it took everything in my arsenal to get it to dry.  For the record, a combination of Seche Vite, drying drops and not reaching into drawers helps.

The Verdict:  Love the huge glitter choices in this polish, like the addition of the red hearts to mix it up.  Keep it up!

Also, hang in there index finger, thumb will be better soon :(

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
