Review: The Hungry Asian Cookies & Cream

Oh, white polish.  You're interesting, but only for your unattainability.  The number of times I've thought, yes, smooth white nails would be nice now, only have it ruined by it being streaky or needing a million coats that inevitably get dinged.  It was, then, with trepidation that I tried The Hungry Asian, Cookies and Cream.

Cookies and Cream is a white jelly polish with a very sparse smattering of black glitter.  This is clearly intentional, to represent the cookie pieces.  What surprised me here was how well it applied.  Being a jelly meant that not only was it not streaky, there's a nice build-up of layers of glitter.  I only needed three coats for even coverage.  Even the glitter spread itself out properly.

The Verdict:  If you're looking for your nails to look exactly like Cookies and Cream ice cream, mission accomplished, in the best way possible.

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
