Review: OPI Pirouette My Whistle - Dammit that Name is Baaad

Alrighty, I have a "real" polish to show to you today!  The New York City Ballet collection from OPI has been a little underwhelming for me.  Sheer polishes are nice but my nails are so discoloured from all the swatching that it's not really an option for me.  However, I am completely incapable of resisting glitter so Pirouette My Whistle just had to be an exception.  

Pirouette My Whistle is a combination of pearly white (!!) glitter in a clear base with silver micro glitter.  I decided to swatch it over Revlon Dreamer and I'm glad I did as it looks like it's gently raining on my nails.  Application of both polishes was decent, each is here with two coats.  I just love this glitter.  It's so different for OPI, so soft and delicate.  I really hope they keep deviating from the norm like this, I NEED MORE DIFFERENT GLITTER, DAMMIT.






The Verdict: LOVE Pirouette My Whistle, as much as I want to punch the name.  Soft, delicate, like rain or snow, it's so pretty and different.  BUY IT.

    I love this glitter!! It definitely reminds me of snow, and I look forward to wearing it in the winter!! :D

    I just bought mine yesterday and was staring at my nails this morning thinking "This would make an amazing glitter for a winter/snow manicure." :)

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
