Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Frock Star

I had grand plans for my nails last night - something like a half moon gone made, with different colours but something about it was just off and I won't stand for off!  Given it was late and I was likely to ruin a standard mani overnight I turned to my ever reliable back up - Sally Hansen Salon Effect Nail Polish Strips in Frock Star.  I love glitter and this is just so sparkly, I love it.

Using my normal technique, I applied the strips.  This particular style is a little trickier than usual as you have to file through or trim pieces of glitter off the ends of your nails.  Once on though, omgsosparkly.  I like these as you don't have to wait for them to dry, they're designed well and last well.  Winning combination for me.  Oh, and in case you're wondering, that is a ring I'm holding :D

The Verdict:  The Sally Hansen strips are my favourites out of the Sephora and Claire strips I've tried.  This is the fourth time I've worn this particular glittery one and I love it every time.  Yay glitter!

  5. I like those strips but they're so expensive for just one use! You can get a bottle of higher end polish or a couple of bottles of cheaper polish for the price of one pack of strips! I just can't justify buying them.

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
