Review: Lacquistry Golf Socks

I received a lovely parcel in the mail on Monday from Etsy store Lacquistry.  Even since, I've just had to try all the glitters as I've just never seen such large pieces of glitter in such interesting colour combinations.  I still haven't tried my biggest lemming, Deborah Lippman Across the Universe, as it just isn't glittery enough!

Anyway, let's take a look at one of my personal favourites from Lacquistry, Golf Socks.  A dark blue jelly with blue and orangey-gold micro glitter and blue and gold HUGEMONGOUS glitter, Golf Socks is a real stunner.  I just love the colour combination and I can't recall the last time I saw something else like it.  The pictures that follow are one coat of one of my favourite Sally Hansen Navy Baby, followed by two coats of Golf Socks.

Application for this one seemed a little easier than the other one I've tried, Winter No. 1. Maybe because this one doesn't have the bar glitter to get in the way, it just seemed easier to distribute the large pieces and the smaller glitters filled in the gaps.  Take a look at the mega close up, isn't it awesome?

The Verdict:  This is my favourite so far from Lacquistry.  It actually does remind me of socks!  The colour combo is wonderful and so sparkly, absolutely can't go wrong!

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
