Polish All the Nails

Ok so I loved those nails I did last weekend.  Balls-out crazy pants, rendered me unable to get my shoes and actually woke me up because they got tangled together, and 100% amazing.   These are it.  I'm basically jelly that I can't do them again this week so I'm improvising and applied all my Hex Nail Charms.  So much classier than last weekends' and coincidently the most expensive nails I've ever done.  So yay for sticking all the charms!

Hey! I'm here! Not dead!  It's just incredibly hard to blog and start a new job when I've been sitting at home not doing much for two months.  I'm now working for an agency in downtown Toronto doing front-end web development and it's really fun.  Anyway, I was lucky enough to get some new MASH stamping plates in the mail this week and I just had to try them out.  I chose ridiculously cute as a theme and away I went.  As I'm still not that good at stamping and I'm only half-way good with the Konad polishes, I decided on a black and white theme.  To start, I applied three coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  If you're looking for a white to be something other than polish underwear, this is actually a really good option.  It doesn't go streaky at all.  Once I was sure each layer and the overall result was dry, I waited another ten minutes.  I can't even count the number of times I've stamped on my nail only to have still-wet polish...

Are you ready for the most cutesy nails ever seen on this blog?  I'm starting off with a warning cos they're a bit ridiculous.  So I've been on a bit of a gradient kick lately ever since I figured out that you just have to follow all the tutorials out there.  I saw a particularly awesome pastel and paisley design on tumblr the other day and thought I'd give it a shot.  Not only did the gradient work, the stamping did too! To start, I applied two coats of L.A. Girl Delicate and, once dry, painted strips of Revlon Pink Lingerie, Urban Outfitters Mojave and Revlon Cloud on my makeup sponge.  Three coats of dabbing got my colours nice and even, smooth.  I have trouble getting in around my cuticles so I helped the coverage along a little with applying the polish directly.  Once the gradient was dry, I waited another ten minutes before starting my stamping. Trust me, there's nothing worst than getting all the way to the stamp application stage only...

Oh my, so much Halloween, I can't help jump on the bandwagon.  I had a hard time deciding what to do and surprisingly, my male co-workers and friends have been really helpful!  I wasn't about to use makeup to make it look like my nails were torn off like one suggested as I have had actual nightmares about that and I now get really depressed when I break a nail *breath* but I like the idea of monster nails.  As I've been having fun with my nail art polish lately I thought I'd try my hand at happy monster nails. To start, I painted my thumb, middle and pinkie fingers with Orly Dayglow, my index finger with Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and my ring finger with Joe Fresh Orange.  Next, using L.A. Colors Art Deco nail art polish in black, I freehanded the monsters.  I used the end of a paint brush to make the eye circles as all my dotting tools seem to have disappeared lately.  Viola!  Happy monster nails!  On a side note, I've actually had a few peopl...

I don't know what it is but my safe, comfy place with nail art is always hand-placed glitter.  Always sparkly and easy to get looking neat and orderly, it's always my fall-back.  In an effort to step outside of my comfort zone though, I do sometimes like to try something different.  Thus, cherry nails! To start, two coats of Sally Hansen Celeb City, the sparkly silver foil.  I find myself using this polish all the time as it covers well in two coats, is super sparkly and compliments a glitter top coat perfectly.  I wanted to use it on its own this time and turns out it's great for my cherries.  Next, using a small paintbrush, I added the red dots using American Apparel Lipstick, brown stems in polish that's completely slipped my mind and then the green leaves using American Apparel Crescent Heights.  I did one colour at a time as cleaning the brush is a bit of a pain.  You know the hardest part about this?  Trying to figure out which way...
