Long Cat Nails!

When someone visits my apartment, if they sit still for more than about five minutes I'm going to paint their nails.  It's inevitable.  I'll get a guy one of these days... Anyway, I had my nice friend Erica around the other day and because she does amazing work painting intricate shoes, I instead bribe her to actually paint my nails.  She did a great rocket cat themed mani for me earlier in the year so of course the next logical progression is Long Cat.  That looks like my cat.  Yeesssss

To start, I applied three coats of China Glaze Electric Beat and let it dry completely.  Erica then worked her magic with acrylic paints to create the wonderful image you see before you.  She started by marking out the shape of the body so it would line up properly, then filled in the body, detailed the face and added shading, clouds and one tiny tree, you know, for scale.  I then topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite and done, the longest cat is done!

The Verdict:  I love how this came out, especially since it looks like my cat, Rocket.  Who is the cutest cat in the world.  Thanks Erica :D:D

NEON FLOWER EYE MELTY GOODNESS

Alrighty!  So I recently got a hold of some very interesting flower glitter as a sample for the shop .  In the past I've stayed away because I've found it really hard to work with because it either won't lay flat or it's too thick or it sticks up or something, and generally just hasn't really been worth it.  UNTIL NOW.  Now, not only is this glitter thin enough to behave it also literally explodes under blacklight.  LOOK AT IT.  Makes me want to carry around my blacklight bulb all the time...more....

An Abstract Field of Tulips

I tell you, it's getting harder and harder to come up with different nails to do.  I have a pile of polish to swatch but I get bored just doing a colour and talking about it.  Pondering what to do last night, my eyes alighted on acrylic paints...yessss.  As I'm not especially good painting but do have a large amount of patience for repetitive tasks like dots, dots it is! Inspired by a mental image something like this , I thought, why not rainbows?  I like starting with a black base so I first applied two coats of my favourite shiny black, Rimmel Black Satin.  Taking my tiniest dotting tool, I initially started with a red polish.  Red doesn't show up on black too well so I switched to acrylic paints.  I did a block of dots at a time in each of the rainbow colours.  The result, a colourful abstract field of tulips!

3D Glitter Cubes Over Orly Smoked Out

Ok!  So.  Stuff.  I've had an interesting few weeks lately.  My mum came to visit and we got to surprise her with a trip to Curacao and it was so awesome.  I saw soo many fish, seriously, if you like diving or snorkeling even a little it's like paradise.  All this plus work means blogging is hard so here's something I did a little while ago.  It's glitter, but it doesn't take a million years to do.  Hooray! Sparklies, stuff, blah let's go.
