Ocean and Sand Teeny Tiny Glitter Mermaid Nails!

Hi everybody!  Sorry for neglecting you, life is hard.  I've still been doing nails but taking that extra step to take the proper pictures and edit them and actually write words is just a step too far lately.  To make up for it I did a mega sparkly mermaid mani!  With glitter that clocks in under a mm!  For what's probably very close to a thousand pieces of glitter! YOU STILL LOVE ME RIGHT????

Whenever I do nails like this, I'm inundated with people asking how I do it.  I really wish there was an easy answer but it's just to stick them on one by one.  With an orange stick.  Into wet top-coat.  Even if I did a video, it would be a few hours of me sticking pieces of glitter on.  On the up side, it's done just like this tutorial video I made.  You start with a line of glitter down the centre of your nail, paying extra attention to your spacing.  Then you fit the next line of pieces into the first.  And repeat!  I've been using Essence Top Coat lately to adhere the glitter because it's cheap and dries slowly enough.  As for the topper, this is actually a gel acrylic from a set I found at Rexall.  Seche Vite is fine too.  Hooray for sparklies!

The Verdict:  Well, it's pretty clear this is my favourite mani I've done this year.  I just love the teeny tiny glitter, what can I say? I'm happy with how well my spacing came out, and the fact I'm pretty sure I hit a thousand pieces.  Sure, I was going a bit cray by the time I hit the last nail, but WORTH IT.

If you're cray like me, this glitter will be available in a six-piece set on The Sparkly Shop on Friday!

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the biggest tag on y

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

All the ILNP Ultrachromes! Like Shiny Beetles!

Guess what guys, it's not glitter today!  Instead, I have the incredibly amazing ILNP Ultrachrome polishes to show you!  I saw a picture of these on the ILNP site and gasped out loud when I saw the colour shift.  I totally didn't sit for an hour at work, refreshing the page when the preorders went up.  That would be silly.  I was so excited when they arrived as they looked as amazing in the bottle as they did on the site.  I swatched each polish over black, took the photos, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the finish to a place where I was satisfied.  I'm sure it's something about the way I was applying it, but there would be little bumps or inconsistencies in the finish and it was annoying.  So I didn't post them.  I gave them another shot in a taped mani and YES THIS IS BETTER LOOK:
