Review: Rimmel Stiletto Red with Black Dots

It's quite the historic time for me lately, everyone.  I've finally grown out the horrible green stains on my nails!  To celebrate, I decided to pull out my favourite red and do something classic, without needing a white base coat.

Rimmel Stiletto Red is a true, deep red that I love to pieces.  It has a real jelly finish that makes any and all stains show right through.  Needless to say, I'm happy to be able to wear it again as it's so shiny.  What you see in the pictures below is three coats.  Application is nice, although, as I've mentioned, this is quite a sheer polish.  To finish it off, cos, you know, just a colour is a preposterous suggestion, I added black dots with a medium size dotting tool and Rimmel Black Satin.  The result?  Shiny, classic.

The Verdict:  Yay, lady bugs!

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the biggest tag on y

31DC2014 Day 6: Violet! Or what happens when you don't know when to stop adding stuff

Dammit this challenge is hard.  Taking proper photos is just the really hard part on top of actually doing the nails cos you have to edit them, fix the colours, and then actually write the post.  Hence the placeholder posts.  I'm totes going to go back and do them proper, I swear.  Ok so Violet.  Not super feeling it, so hence the mature-shirt-for-older-ladies thing I have going here.  Oh well.  It's a thing.  Onward!

FULL RAINBOW GLITTER INSANITYYYYYYYY

I don't know what it is, but there's something about hex glitter that is very pleasing to me.  The tessellation, the way the colours can interlace, it's just great.  The problem is, the tiny glitter - my favourite - is actually quite difficult to find. The red, especially, difficult to track down.  I FINALLY FOUND SIXTEEN COLOURS BIATCHES.  THUS, RAINBOW-Y-EST RAINBOWS EVER AND I'm sharing too at the The Sparkly Shop ... But we're here for this rainbow today.  LOOK AT THIS WOULD YOU.
