My. Entire. Collection

So a few people have been asking to see my collection.  Fun! though I, it can't possibly that bad! Well... I don't think there's much to say other than just to show you...

Balls. That's a lot of polish.

Pretty though, right?
I don't really know how I feel about this.  I actually counted and my brain tried to multiply that by the average cost but I'm definitely not really for that yet.  I love this blog, and always want to make sure I have new and interesting things to show you. I think if I just slow down, only buy polishes I absolutely love, I think I'll be ok.  In the mean time, back to the Helmer for all you lot!

On a happier note, let's take a look at some of the more unique close-ups.  If there's anything in there you can see you want to see closer, just let me know in the comments.

The Verdict: I HAVE A LOT OF NAIL POLISHES AND DIDN'T THINK THROUGH HAVING TO LABEL ALL THE PHOTOS.  Again, if there's something here you want to see swatched, I'd love help picking and I'll take all the close-ups you want.

Yay nail polish!

  1. Holy balls, I hope my collection grows to be this size!

  2. WOAH!!!!! I am so jealous of alll the indie brand polishes, they are beautiful! What are the stickers on the bottle caps for?

  3. Wow, this is impressive! I didnt saw you wrote the exact number, do you know it? just kidding ;) what can I say? girl never cant have enough polishes, I'm so jealous :D

    1. I don't even think I want to say cos my IRL friends read this blog and I will never hear the end of it. It's 605 :0

    2. Oh my...!! *faints*
How long have you been stashing?

  4. What's with the stickey dots? I'm guessing it's some kind of organisational system? (I like to know how people organise things...)
    Awesome colletion! :)

    1. The dots were supposed to help me keep track of what I had and hadn't swatched. Red for reviewed, yellow for not reviewed, green for new and blue for duplicate but it was too hard to keep up.

As for actually organising them, I keep them by brand in a Helmer. Now to find a way to get a second one without my bf getting all "oh y u have so many nail polishes" on me :D

    2. Oh dear, yeah it must be impossible- I don't have anywhere near as many polishes as you and I still find it hard!

I'm thinking of getting a Helmer too- my polishes are ok in my current drawers, but I can't open more than one drawer at a time without it toppling over!

Hmm, good luck with that... I'm sure he must have an expensive hobby you can trade off with?

  5. This is a crazy amount of polish! I think we, as commenters, need to rally for an online intervention.

Just kidding, this is her partner. If she doesn't ask me how much my expensive hobbies are I wont ask of hers :P

    1. Noooo you aren't supposed to read my blog! You're supposed to see that there's a set of drawers that has an amount of nail polish in it and never ask questions!

And yes, this is actually my partner. Say hi to the internet now!

  6. Oh my gosh, this is impressive!

  7. You have an awesome collection!

How many do you have exactly? I didn't count. Lol. I only have about 285 right now but I keep buying even when I'm not supposed to!. OTL.

  8. Wow !!! Wooowww!!! Great collection and really good taste in polishes!!!

  9. Lento III, Golf Socks, Paean of the Bells *SUPER DROOL*
If you ever want to sell these, I am your girl. *hee hee*

    Nice stash!

  10. I love this post!! When I looked at the photos, I literally whispered to myself: "wow, glorious!" LOL! XD

  11. I have an organization system too! Well I try, I put stickers on top of my untrieds so I know that those are the ones I need to try first!

  12. Olá! Moro no Brasil, eu também amo esmaltes, e achei incrível estes gliters. Lindos!

3D Glitter Cubes Over Orly Smoked Out

Ok!  So.  Stuff.  I've had an interesting few weeks lately.  My mum came to visit and we got to surprise her with a trip to Curacao and it was so awesome.  I saw soo many fish, seriously, if you like diving or snorkeling even a little it's like paradise.  All this plus work means blogging is hard so here's something I did a little while ago.  It's glitter, but it doesn't take a million years to do.  Hooray! Sparklies, stuff, blah let's go.

Alrighty!  So I recently got a hold of some very interesting flower glitter as a sample for the shop .  In the past I've stayed away because I've found it really hard to work with because it either won't lay flat or it's too thick or it sticks up or something, and generally just hasn't really been worth it.  UNTIL NOW.  Now, not only is this glitter thin enough to behave it also literally explodes under blacklight.  LOOK AT IT.  Makes me want to carry around my blacklight bulb all the time...more....

My Most Complex Rainbow Glitter Mosaic Yet

It's no secret that when I get bored, I troll ebay for glitter.  I set myself a $10 budget, search for "holo hex glitter" or something, sort by buy it now and lowest price + shipping and go nuts.  I got a new package in the mail today and turns out we all have different definitions of "rhombus" as my rhombus glitter was distinctly hexagonally shaped.  Whatever, it's an excuse to the most rainbowy nails I've ever done.  They're so sparkly they're actually casting little rainbows on my keyboard as I type this.  Sure, they took a long time to do but look how sparkly in these static images! To start, I did my usual base, two coats of Rimmel Black Satin.  It cleans up well and doesn't do weird things to my glitter so it's a good base.  Then, using my usual technique and Sally Hansen Invisible top coat, I got to work with my glitter.  I've been having a lot of luck lately with starting with a column of glitter straight down the middle
