Review: Lacquistry Cassandra's Peacock

Ohhhh do I have a doozy for you ladies (and gentlemen, can't make assumptions).  As you may have noticed, I've been working my way through my pile of Lacquistry polishes - first world problem, that's for sure.  I initially tried this one out when I first received it, realised I should have layered it and put it back in the pile.  Consider it now having had justice done, because it's totally awesome!

Being such a chunky glitter, adding enough layers to be fully opaque can cause wear issues.  Not a fault of the polish, more of physics.  So instead of adding three-four coats, I started with a coat of my favourite sparkly blue, Orly Sweet Peacock.  Then, two coats of Lacquistry Cassandra's Peacock.  I can't even begin to describe how much glitter is in here.  There's blue, green, silver, all of different sizes and shapes, it's so amazing.  Because there's plenty of fine glitter in there too, it's just so sparkly and glittery.  It's just the right tone to go with the Orly polish too, so that's a win.

Tip: To get these thick polishes to dry, add a coat of Seche Vite or the like, then add drying drops.  I didn't think they'd actually do anything but I've had far less problems with wrinkling and marks with them.

The Verdict: I mean, look at it.  What else is there to say?

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! If, like me, you like sparklies to the point where it's the big...

Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
