Review: Lacquistry Faux Fir

Onwards to show you more indie polishes that I magically have and is now impossible to get, therefore leaving me wracked with guilt because I'm essentially just teasing you!  So I can hear what you're thinking, and no, I didn't just glue sparkly pine needles to my nails, this is just Lacquistry Faux Fir!

I'm not normally one for greens, for some reason, but I had to make an exception for Faux Fir.  Anything with such a large amount of glitter could be poo brown and I'd find a way to like it.  There's bar glitter, hex, micro, you name it, it's all there, in a strong forest green. Anyway, for this one I started with two coats of Revlon Posh with a coat of Rimmel Black Satin on my ring finger.  I was curious to see if using a different undercolour would make for a good accent nail and it's not bad.  Next, two coats of Faux Fir.  Application was decent - this much glitter is always a little thick - but I had no problems getting it out of the bottle which is always a plus.  As always, I used a coat of Seche Vite and drying drops to get this to set.







The Verdict: So green, so sparkly.  I sound really biased for so many of these indie polishes but I swear, they're all actually this good.  One day we'll be able to get them easily-er.

Review: Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles is Accurately Named

It's amazing what you can find when you wander around at night.  My favourite time to go shopping is ridiculously late and I'm extra happy when it pays off.  I've been looking for Nicole by OPI A Million Sparkles for a while now at that couldn't be more up my alley if it tried.  I finally managed to find it in a Shoppers last night and it really does live up to its name. A Million Sparkles is a predominately blue glitter that has an amazing ability to look like a foil after a couple of coats.  Combine that with gold, silver and pink bar glitter and you have a winner.  It's seriously so sparkly I got distracted from what I was saying at lunch today.  Application is decent but you really need four coats to get completely opaque coverage.  That's ok, glitter dries fast.  It's a little rough too but nothing Seche Vite can't fix.  The Verdict:  Yay glitter! Review: Sephora X Outburst

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when the new Sephora X polishes came out.  Not only were there a million of them, but I could go see them in person, circling the huge stand and singling out my prey.  I'm not the most happy that the good ones are FIFTEEN dollars each but what am I going to do, not buy any?? That's silly.  I have few now but my favourite so far as to be the incredibly Outburst.  LOOK AT IT:

MOAR FLOWERS, NOW SPARKLY

Ok! So you may be feeling a sense of deja vu but WHO CARES SPARKLIES.  I actually did this flower mani before the neon one - I held the the neon glitter under my blacklight and there was no way I could not immediately apply it to my nails. Running The Sparkly Shop just continues to have perks...  And yes, I do have a blacklight bulb that handy.  Anyway, this glitter is just as amazing as the neon, it's RIDICULOUSLY sparkly.  Same thinness, nice and easy to work with.  Let's take a look, shall we?
