Summer's Day Clouds with Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Air

Spring is nice.  Warmer weather, sunshine and more importantly, soooo many new polishes for me to try.  Going past Shoppers today I thought I'd better try something from the new Smooth and Perfect line from Sally Hansen.  I've liked a lot Sally Hansen's, especially the Complete Salon Manicure line so even though the colours weren't mind-blowing, I gritted my teeth and picked up a pretty sky blue, Air.

What I didn't notice about this one in the store was that it's bordering on a frost! The first coat of this was so super sheer and frosty, I was all ready to be sad.  The blue was so pretty in the bottle, I decided to persevere and it actually layers up really well.  The pictures below are three coats and you'll see it's opaque and most of the frost has disappeared, hooray!  Air being the perfect sky blue, I though I'd then add some clouds and man, I'm glad I did.  Using Rimmel French White Tip Liner as it has a nice thin brush, I just dotted on cloud like shapes.  Looks like a perfect summer's day.









The Verdict: Despite my initial reservations, Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect in Air really is pretty smooth and perfect.  The blue is so light and pretty, it can stay.  I also really like the Rimmel french tip, it's going to continue to be my nail air white, especially since the white is so opaque. Yay clouds!

    I love the clouds :)

    I've been wondering about the Smooth & Perfect. I'm not a big fan of blue but now I gotta try Air.

    I love this blue! It really is the perfect sky blue colour. The clouds are too cute. I'll have to try this out one day. :)

      You should try it, it's really easy to do. Just dot dots together, easy peasy

All the ILNP Ultrachromes! Like Shiny Beetles!

Guess what guys, it's not glitter today!  Instead, I have the incredibly amazing ILNP Ultrachrome polishes to show you!  I saw a picture of these on the ILNP site and gasped out loud when I saw the colour shift.  I totally didn't sit for an hour at work, refreshing the page when the preorders went up.  That would be silly.  I was so excited when they arrived as they looked as amazing in the bottle as they did on the site.  I swatched each polish over black, took the photos, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the finish to a place where I was satisfied.  I'm sure it's something about the way I was applying it, but there would be little bumps or inconsistencies in the finish and it was annoying.  So I didn't post them.  I gave them another shot in a taped mani and YES THIS IS BETTER LOOK:

Pink Mega-Sparkly Nails!

It's hardly a secret how much I love sparklies.  If it were at all practical, I would make my middle name Sparkly.  Laura Sparkly Tucker.  That does have a nice ring to it.  Anyway, this adoration of all the sparklies means just about my favourite thing ever is dazzle glitter .  It's like a bunch of tiny pieces of glitter were smushed together into a larger piece.  And oh, so sparklies.  I've done red and silver manis using this glitter before so that's the perfect excuse to use the pink.  That makes sense, right?
